E-Commerce Platform Modernization

nopCommerceeCommerceCustom Development

The Challenge

Client Background & Problem

The Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) is California's trusted legal resource, providing expert-written secondary sources and legal analysis to attorneys statewide. CEB's e-commerce site had run reliably on the Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 platform for over a decade — but the aging system was increasingly difficult to maintain, lacked modern features, and could no longer support the organization's evolving digital needs.

Our Approach

What Terrace Did

Terrace designed and developed a new e-commerce website for CEB within nopCommerce — a modern, open-source platform well-suited to CEB's content-rich catalog and membership model. The engagement included full requirements analysis, platform configuration, content migration, and custom development to match CEB's unique business workflows. The result was a significantly more maintainable and user-friendly platform for both staff and California's legal community.

Outcomes

Results

Replaced decade-old Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 platform
Launched modern nopCommerce-based e-commerce site
Improved site manageability and content publishing workflows
Enhanced user experience for California attorneys

This is our third implementation with Terrace. They are very savvy in terms of their technical knowledge and also in the legal publishing arena.
