Optimizing cocokind’s Operations with Customized NetSuite and Celigo Solutions

Cocokind, a rapidly growing skincare brand, faced increasing complexity in their operations as they expanded their market presence. The company needed a robust and scalable solution to streamline their accounting, inventory management, and sales processes across multiple platforms and currencies. Cocokind turned to a combination of NetSuite, Celigo, Shopify, and other integrated systems to address these needs.
Before the project, the client’s bundle management process was complex and inefficient, requiring them to manage bundled items across three separate systems: Shopify, NetSuite, and their 3PL.
The goal was to consolidate bundle management, improve revenue insights, and ideally, eliminate the need to maintain bundles at the 3PL. The primary objectives were to improve the understanding of revenue tied to bundle discounts, automate bundle management, and reduce the reliance on the 3PL for maintaining bundle data.
Terrace Consulting worked with the client to develop a more efficient and automated process, with a specific focus on reporting and system integration.
A comprehensive logic and NetSuite customization were built from the ground up to handle cocokind’s unique requirements. This included creating a system to correctly account for items and item groups (bundles) based on their distinct treatment in financial records.
A robust integration was implemented between Shopify, Celigo, and NetSuite to streamline order processing, inventory management, and financial reporting. This integration allowed for real-time data synchronization, reducing manual data entry and errors.
The project also uncovered some challenges around licensing and testing environments. The client faced difficulties due to the lack of sandboxes for both Celigo (an integration platform) and Shopify, which limited their ability to test changes.

By resizing their Celigo footprint, implementing NetSuite customizations, and integrating their 3PL with key platforms like Shopify, SPS Commerce, cocokind successfully optimized their operations to support their growth. Despite challenges like the absence of sandboxes, the project delivered significant benefits, including improved accounting accuracy, operational efficiency, and the ability to scale their business more effectively.

- Custom Reporting for Bundles: With the new setup, the team could now track bundle discounts and generate custom reports that displayed the impact of those discounts on revenue. This was a major improvement, as the previous process didn’t capture discount metrics accurately.
- Improved Revenue Visibility and Reporting: The integration allowed the client to get metrics on how much in bundle discounts they were offering, and they were able to track that through a specific general ledger account in NetSuite. The project delivered on its promise to improve revenue reporting, providing the business with accurate metrics on bundle discounts and profitability.
- Automation and Efficiency: While some manual processes remained, the project successfully automated key elements of the bundle management and reporting process, reducing the need for manual updates across multiple systems.
